Gratitude makes you happier than cocaine

““Find the best in everybody. Wait long enough, and people will surprise and impress you. It might even take years, but people will show you their good side. Just keep waiting.”

-Randy Pausch, author of The Last Lecture

Camden Miramar (property link), the property I work at, is home to 1500 college students.  For the majority of these students this is their first experience living away from home; for a large number of them it is their first experience with a roommate. Order slowly gives way to controlled chaos but in our Newtonian universe such things are inevitable.

Despite our corner of chaos in Corpus Christi we are a generally happy campus.  It could be that we are on an island surrounded by beautiful bays and great weather– no matter what it certainly helps.  I advocate happiness.  It’s just a good thing.  While searching reddit today I came across an article about Positive Psychology and the benefits of showing gratitude.  I wanted to share it with all of you (link here) and challenge anyone who is having a rough day or just not feeling as happy as you could to try the exercise in the article.  I’d love it if you shared how it went with us.  We love when we have happy residents!
