Are you afraid of pesticides but can’t afford to eat all Organic? Well, have no fear Da Clean 15 is here!! Da Clean 15 keeps it real with the least amount of pesticides on conventionally grown produce. Da Dirty Dozen is the filthiest of fruits and veg with a grotesque amount of pesticides which are harmful to consumers and the farmers that harvest them. The World Health Organization estimates more than 4 million people per year suffer from severe pesticide poisoning. You can reduce your exposure to pesticides by 80% by switch to organic when buying Da Dirty Dozen according to The Daily Green. Not only is Organic Healthier for you but is better for our environment, animals, the future, and above all it taste better! I mean, who wouldn’t pay more for better flavor? Pesticides can leak into our water supply and our atmosphere making our air and water toxic too! We should all do our part in creating a high demand for Organic produce which in turn lowers the price and creates a better future for ourselves and our children. Orlando Organics makes it even easier to obtain organic produce and brings it straight to your apartment saving you time money and gas (WooHoo!!). Every time I think I’m paying too much for organic I remember what my vegan friend Jeremy says “would you rather pay the farmer or the doctor?” I think I’ll pay the farmer, lol!

Does washing reduce the contaminants or are they absorbed by the fruits/veggies as they are growing?
That is an excellent question Beverly! The answer is yes and yes! Pesticides can be reduced by thoroughly washing and lightly scrubbing your produce. However, it does nothing to the amount of pesticides that are absorbed by the produce while growing. Also, these studies were based upon washed produce. Always buy organic when ever possible.
Great tips. Some organic foods are very costly so having a choice when prices are high is good to know. I have also found frozen organic was often cheaper than fres. Although I prefer fresh, frozen berries and fruits are great for smoothies. Thanks for info.
Thank you for your tips Denise! I will keep this in mind.
[...] movie gave that a whole new urgency. I have a great co-worker who is pretty passionate about food (you may have read her work), and that constant cognizance is very encouraging and easy to adopt. Speak your passions, people! [...]
