Whether you call our city Atlanta, Hotlanta, The ATL, A-town, or the metro, we are proud of our historic hometown. Albeit living in the city or the suburbs, we are all known as the Atlantans.
One well known area of Atlanta, Buckhead, is a prestigious area that has also been referred to by some as the Beverly Hills of Atlanta. Ever wonder where the name Buckhead came from? According to local legend (Buckhead Heritage Society), a 202 acre parcel of land was purchased in the late 1830’s by Henry Irby for around six hundred dollar bills. Today homes are worth multi-millions, and the name Buckhead stands just as firmly as the day a buck’s head was reportedly placed over the door of Irby’s Tavern back in the 1840’s, hence the name Buckhead.
Every city in our metro area has a story. Regardless which area of Atlanta and regardless the value of the parcel of land, an impression is being made. From Kennesaw to Buckhead to Peachtree City or anywhere in between and all around, Camden employees are creating our own history through outreach to local businesses as well as volunteer efforts in our community.
The Pepsi facility in Stone Mountain, GA was recently awarded a newly installed high tech gym that featured Xbox connect interactive fitness, cardio equipment with ipod connect & cable tv options, as well as Cybex circuit weight equipment.
Pepsi Stone Mountain’s focus on wellness, secured the win over every other Pepsi nationwide during their company’s health challenge. Camden recently participated in their employee health fair (because Camden residents feel good where they live, and feeling good is healthy), and was given the opportunity to spend the day interacting with Pepsi employees during their celebration.
Pom-poms, cheers, and cake – oh my! A representative from each of our gorgeous Camden communities formed a cheerleading extravaganza and presented a local REI store with a congratulatory cake for being named on the Fortune “100 Best Companies to Work For”. Their employees were pumped, their customers were pumped – exhilaration was in the air.
In addition to our b2b outreach, Camden employees are leaving an imprint incomparable to any other multi-family company. From serving breakfast at the Shepherd Spinal Center,
inspiring youth while attending the Gwinnett County Schools science and engineering fair,
or generously donating our time after work hours to serve hot meals to homeless youth at Standup for Kids.
Come on over to Camden. We are making an impression all over the metro, and Atlantans are lovin’ it!
Cheers,
Lavonia
