Our fabulous South Florida Camden Cares team tapped into their inner thespian for a performance reading of the children’s book Let’s Do Nothing at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Sal(Scotty)and Frankie(Farrah)had played every game they could play, baked every cookie they could bake, and painted all the pictures they could paint when it hit them that it might actually be fun to just DO NOTHING! They tried sitting still and pretending to be statues, tall buildings, bustling Redwood trees, and even lying flat keeping as still as possible. They discovered all of their attempts at doing nothing was actually doing something!
Laughter filled the room as the children watched Frankie and Sal try to be statues disturbed by pigeons, tall buildings scoured by Godzilla, bustling Redwood trees loved by Pets, and even lying flat keeping as still as possible except for the excessive blinking.
We ended the day with activities based on the book and a very intense Wii Challenge.
We had a blast with the children! They say anything and it was hilarious!!!
