It’s that time again… The Atlanta Communities are collecting once again for STAND UP FOR KIDS ATLANTA.
Stand Up For Kids is a non-profit program that provides aid to Atlanta’s homeless youth. It was such a great experience participating last year. All the Camden Atlanta properties worked as one team last year to raise over $8,000. Fundraising activities varied from bake sales, yard sales, doughnut and pizza sales. One community even had a pie throwing contest with the Community Manager serving as the target. (Pretty funny and of course residents were lined up for this contest)!!!
Recently Camden’s participation was mentioned on their website:
A Special Thanks!
Day of Service for Many at Home Depot
The motto of Home Depot: “You can do it. We can help.” has never been more clearly demonstrated. Orange aprons were everywhere at once and when they finished, we were the winners. Our new clothes closet is wonderful. We have more room and can be more organized thanks to the efforts of 25 Home Depot volunteers. The spirit and drive the team brought into our building was infectious and heartwarming – and the product they left us with was indescribable.
Thanks Home Depot!
Camden Properties and Tenets
Camden Properties doesn’t just provide luxury accommodations for those that can afford it, they support those that can’t afford any accommodations through the StandUp for Kids program. The staff and management team of Camden Properties and many of their Tenets joined us in August for the first time and raised over $8,000 for the Atlanta program. At the time of their donation we had $600 in the bank! They sponsored a coat and blanket in December and are scheduled to serve food in the Center 3 times in February.
Camden has been listed for the fifth year in a row by Fortune magazine as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in 2012 and we understand why. Executive Director, Kelly Fields attended a quarterly employee meeting at the end of last year and had this experience to share. “The company had provided gift cards as door prizes for the event. Each time a number was called it seemed as if a person would find their way back to me and hand me their card for the kids. One maintenance worker came up and gave me $23.00 cash…not a twenty…not a neat twenty five, but every dollar he had in his pocket. For every outrageous devastating moment I see in the Center it seems to be met with an extraordinary gift of kindness from someone trying to help”. Thank you Camden Properties!
Atlanta would like to recognize our biggest contributors
BB&T, Atlantic Station
Camden Properties
Compuware
CAPN Nurses
Indie Peace
Karen’s Kids
Lexis Nexis
Now of course our contribution was not for the recognition but WAY TO GO CAMDEN!!!! We kicked butt and with our donation STAND UP FOR KIDS was able to supply meals, clothing, and aid to hundreds of homeless youth.
So this year we want to beat last years contribution and I know we can. In fact Atlanta communities have already raised more than $2000.00 in only the first few weeks!!!!
