GMU Off-Campus Housing Fair

It’s that time of year again, which happens to be my favorite- Back to School! There is something about being on a college campus that gives me such a great feeling. So naturally, attending the George Mason University Off-Campus Housing Fair yesterday to represent Camden was a natural fit for me. 

Each semester, GMU holds an Off-Campus Housing Fair for its current and prospective students. In addition to rental properties, other vendors such as Cort Furniture and Cox set up booths with freebies and information on discounts for students. Camden offers a discount of $100 off application fees for actively enrolled GMU students.

While there, I spoke with Melissa and Adam from Cort Furniture. Not only did I learn about the amazing discounts for students (you can get a whole apartment home furnished starting at $99 a month!) but I also learned that they always have contests going on and great things on their facebook page.

The guys at the Cox booth were a lot of fun. Camden offers Camden TV included in the rent and for the Fairfax properties, we use Cox as the service provider. They also offered a lot of great deals for students. 

GMU has a really great website that will actually match you up with roommates based on your personal preferences. Built similar to a social media website,

will let you put as much or as little about yourself including your sleeping habits, food preferences, and level of tidiness. Let’s face it; no one wants to be stuck with a roommate who is the complete opposite of you. Once you find your future roomie, you can actually search for the perfect apartment home in the area.

 Back when I was a college student, the housing fairs were usually all about collecting free stuff. We had a blast meeting all of the new students and giving away Camden goodies. Overall, we made sure that everyone at the Off-Campus Housing Fair at GMU knew that Camden was the choice for living excellence.
