Now that most of us are back into the swing of things & are anticipating the cooler weather (hopefully sooner than later), we can also look forward to the many upcoming Texas festivals! And believe me I have a list for you…
Austin City Limits Music Festival: This Texas music festival is the one of the Lone Star State’s main attractions, and for good reason. About 130 bands show up to perform during the course of a three-day weekend. With heavies this year such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, Weezer and Neil Young and Crazy Horse, as well as dozens of popular indie, country, jazz and blues performers, it’s no wonder that the festival draws some 70,000 attendees daily to Zilker Park. Held on Oct. 12th-14th. aclfestival.com
Ballunar Liftoff Festival: Some 50 hot air balloons will be on display at NASA/Johnson Space Center Sept. 28th-30thfor the 19th anniversary of this festival that celebrates mankind’s fascination with flight. In addition to a hot-air balloon navigational competition, attendees will be able to witness acts of aerial skill by skydivers, hang-gliders and para-gliders. After sundown, the hot air balloons will be lit up for a mass balloon glow. ballunarfestival.com
Texas Renaissance Festival: Last year, more than 450,000 people attended, setting a record for the most attendees since the festival started in 1974. This year’s festival, held weekends Oct. 6-Nov. 25, features themed weekends such as Pirate Adventure, Roman Bacchanal, Barbarian Invasion and Celtic Christmas. Campsites are available, and they’ll even have a doggy day-care paddock for your pooch. texrenfest.com
Now I could make a list a mile long… but I won’t do that to you all haha. But if you would like, please visit Festivals of Texas for more festivals in Texas!
Enjoy your weekend!
